Take a look at the following:

What do you do on a daily basis?:  As a social media account analyst, my day to day responsibilities primarily focus on drafting and posting content to client’s social media sites; Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Blogger/Wordpress. For some clients I also manage and maintain their Flickr and Pinterest accounts. Throughout the day I research each client’s industry to find out what topics are currently trending and use that information to come up with ideas for blog posts, general social posts and editorial calendars. In addition to posting on the client’s social media sites, I also monitor the activity that occurs on each and work to drive followers to the page and increase engagement.

Where did you work prior to Ferocious Media?: Prior to Ferocious Media I worked as a gymnastics coach at the Rockville Centre Recreation Center.

Why did you get into the digital marketing industry? What interested you about Digital Marketing?: In college I majored in Communications and followed the department’s “professional communications” track, which meant that my classes focused on advertising/marketing and public relations. As a result of these courses I found that I really enjoyed writing and knew that I wanted to pursue something where I could be creative and challenge myself to come up with new ideas on a daily basis. One course in particular touched on online content production, and that’s when I realized I wanted to do something where I could combine my interest in writing with social media/digital platforms. I think what interests me the most about Digital Marketing is that it is constantly evolving and that it is a new approach that people can use in order to market and advertise their products/services.

What advice would you like to give clients?: Personally I would recommend social media marketing or the use of social media to all clients. Since the Internet is so popular and widely utilized, I think all clients should understand the importance of having an online presence and should use social media to their advantage in order to build relationships and network with prospective customers/clients.

What is your greatest achievement at work?:  My greatest achievement so far has probably been becoming really comfortable with all of the different social media platforms and really understanding the best way to utilize each one; understanding them better has helped me come up with better ideas for client’s campaigns. I’m also excited about finally understanding the ins and outs of Google+!!

What do you like to do in your free time?: Sleep! Or exercise, I’ve really been into it lately.

What is your favorite book?: Hmm, I don’t really like to read, but the last book I read was Theresa Caputo’s book “There’s More To Life Than This” and that was pretty cool.

What is your favorite TV show/series?: One Tree Hill! Even though it’s off the air I have every season on DVD and still watch them… a lot. Haha! For something that’s on the air now, either Pretty Little Liars or Long Island Medium.

What is your favorite movie?: I don’t think I really have one, but if I had to choose probably one of the Harry Potter movies – they’re all so good!

What song are you currently listening to?: Currently I can’t stop listening to Taylor Swift’s new song “Shake It Off”

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?: DISNEY! I went this past May for the first time since I was really little and it was probably one of the best trips I’ve ever been on. I think I could go back again and again and never get sick of it!!
Shannon has also made the most out of the month of August, going to a different Major League Baseball Ballpark each weekend! Take a look at some of the places she’s visited! With one weekend left, where do you think she’s headed?
